Twisted Finale & Scores

So the finale scores were posted a few days ago and here are the results~

Ariel’s father always reminded her not to go near humans; he told her that they are evil and vicious, and if they ever caught Ariel they would do horrible things to her. Ariel didn’t really believe her father so one day she went up to the surface of the water and sat on this rock and waited. She hoped to get a glance of a human being.
Ariel slowly got bored and started singing which is a big hobby of hers. Her father and sisters told her that her voice could lure any creature nearby into Ariel’s arms. She hoped that what they said was true. As she sang she noticed a young man on a little boat sail over to where Ariel was sitting.
Ariel stopped singing to look at him. The young man was handsome with dark hair and green eyes. The man was smiling until he realized she wasn’t singing anymore. Then his eyes widened.
“You’re a mermaid! Oh-“
But before he could finish Ariel snatched him, scratching his face in the process with her long nails, and bit his neck. Something most people didn’t know was that mermaids have long sharp pointed teeth like sharks which helped mermaids catch food. It might’ve been a stupid thing to do but Ariel was scared he was going to kill her like her father had warned. Usually mermaids hunted sharks and whales but never had Ariel tried a human before, and it tasted good. In fact it tasted much better than sharks or whale. Ariel couldn’t get enough from just this young man; so Ariel continued to sing.

This was gorgeous, Sassy! I love the appearance of your model, the mermaid tail and hair look great on her. Her pose is perfect too, and the makeup adds a great effect. Your quality is great as usual, and I enjoyed reading your story. The only thing I thought could have been better was the sky/water in the background. There wasn’t any sun or clouds, so it was a little boring in comparison to the models in the front. Other than that, great job

Congratulations to Sassy for getting 1st place, and the runner-up Socal! You guys were awesome throughout this whole comp, and your entries were so much fun to judge. I really feel that both of you have improved a lot over the course of this comp! Once again, congrats, and thanks for making my first time hosting a comp such a great experience!

Model’s Inc. Semi Finals & Scores

The Semi-Final assignment was to do a makeup ad. So here is mine!

Your font choice and placement were pretty perfect. I also liked the positioning and pose of Serena. She looks great. I do like the blank space on the left, but at the same time I wish the background had some texture going on rather than strictly black. Your model looks very glamorous and very beautiful. I do feel she’s not high fashion/couture enough for this assignment. This reminds me more of an ad for a classier line of makeup. It just didn’t push the envelope enough for me. The jewelry is too classy, the hair is too classy, and the makeup could have been amped up a bit with some editing. Not a bad ad, just not 100% what I was looking for.

She looks gorgeous. I love the slogan and text. And the black space adds nice drama with how zoomed in her face is. There is some minor quality issues on her hand and cheek. And I would have liked to see more extreme makeup. This is a bit safe on the makeup, bigger lashes, jewels, brighter colors would have all pushed it a bit more.

Saldy I was eliminated. I agree with everything the judges said and I’m not that upset actually, I’m very happy that I made it this far and it is a relief to be out of one another modeling competition and I think high fashion comps are not for me, they are nice and all but I enjoy the more creative and photography comps more. So I’ll stick to those types from now on. Now I’ll put focus into the Inspiration comp I’m in.

And maybe when I’m tired of comps or if I feel like it, I might maybe host my own photography comp . . . and maybe I can have a co-host by the name of Ouchhiiieee. I don’t know we’ll see . .

Have a great day everyone! Now I’m off to watch some Spiderman movies. (yes it’s first time, lol)

Twisted Semi-Finals & Scores

So it’s been a while since this comp as continued, but the scores have been posted. The assignment was Mulan by the way and here it is!

____________________

Assignment Five

When Mulan learned that Huns were going to invade China and that her father was going to be sent to fight, she knew that he wouldn’t live. Mulan knew how skilled and violent the Huns are, especially since she was a spy for the Huns and was trained by the leader of the Huns, Shan Yu. She didn’t want her father to be killed in the war, so knowing she wouldn’t be killed for Shan Yu would tell his army not to aim for Mulan, Mulan disguised herself as a boy and left to “join” the army.
Other than being the spy for the Huns, Mulan kept another dark secret. Mulan one night had sneaked into her village’s cemetery one night for entertainment, but instead she was visited by her ancestor’s spirit, the spirit knew Mulan was a spy so he cursed Mulan by turning her into a demon. Mulan wasn’t angry, she quite smitten, for the new abilities that came with being demon didn’t bother her.
So while the other men settled at the edge of a mountain they were climbing to take a nice long nap, they left Mulan in charge to watch for any invaders. They thought they could trust Mulan, but they were very wrong. Before anyone of them could react, Mulan sneaked into each tent and killed them one by one; not letting any of them make a sound
But Mulan didn’t notice that there was one man that had awoken and sneaked behind her. Mulan heard his footsteps and turned around, it was Li Shang. Li Shang’s face was determined but Mulan could see a hint of surprise in his eyes, for her didn’t know Mulan was a liar and a girl. Mulan began to run but Li Shang followed behind and cornered her at the edge of the cliff.
Mulan, having nowhere to go, stood her ground and growled at Li Shang, she hoped to stall him until the Huns got here. In the distance she heard the sound of fireworks begin released. The signal! Mulan remembered. Along with Mulan’s superhuman strength that came along with being demon she also had the ability to release an ear-splitting scream. Mulan remembered Shan Yu telling her to use her screaming ability as soon as she saw the fireworks to tell him when they could attack. Mulan opened her mouth to scream and out came the horrible sound. Li Shang lifted his hands to cover his ears in pain and his face turned into confusion, but before he could save himself Mulan leaped onto Li Shang and split his throat open. Mulan smiled and patted herself on her back. Now all she had to do was wait for Shan Yu to come back and get a well earned reward . . .

Very unique, Sassy! Your model looks great as always, I love the makeup that you put on her. She looks very devilish and demon-like. The only thing I didn’t care for was how washed-out looking the setting was. If the mountains and sky were darker with the bright fireworks there would be more of a strong impact. Other than that well done!

Comments: Completely and utterly in love with the background. It’s the beauty of simmers who have the patience to really sit in game and create a beautiful natural sims set rather than opting for editing everything. The layering, and depth is superb, I especially adore the little mushrooms and toadstills. Textures make a huge difference, both on the ground and in items and you’ve done a great job with both, the scene is truly breathtakingly awesome. I very much get a whole, Fern Gully feel from it, though it is a little close to what was obviously going to be a super common theme to pull from the inspiration material, the fairy element. Love the outfit, its perfect for the idea of some nymph, the pose is what makes it all fall flat. It’s bordering on the modeling style of shot, barely there expression when you could have gone with something far more dramatic. This competition doesn’t care if your sim is making a so called ugly facial expression as long as it tells a story and I’d rather have her with a more extreme reaction of horror or disgust in her surroundings to really sell that story. Something with more animation in the limbs too, especially if your doing a full bodyshot.

Comments: How pretty Sassy, your sense of lighting and depth are truly amazing, seriously, spot on. Your scene looks completely realistic and I can’t believe the quality of every single object, particularly the plants, I mean darnnit, plants never look good in the sims but just look at them. I don’t know how you did it, but it really payed off. I admire the Inspiration you gathered from the assignment yet I’m a bit confused about your idea, though I’m guessing that’s the point to spread a little empathy with your little fairy/elf/creature there. The first and most striking thing about your image is the creature herself; The pose isn’t really doing much to aid your picture, whilst it shows a bit of confusion she just seems a bit static, staged and rigid which is unsuiting with your image as a whole. The one concept I can’t help but keep mentioning with your assignment is the scene. There is a definite foreground, background and middle and so this creates so many layers and so much depth, which is really important in making your image look like a story – which is what Inspiration is all about. I really just can’t stop looking at your image. I think you perfectly portrayed your idea in terms of scenery and wardrobe, I would just love to have given you a perfect score, as although it all seems a bit mismatched, it does bring together as a whole to create “a disturbance” and so you perfectly matched the inspiration you gathered from the assignment. There really is only one thing that I would like you to improve, which is your Sims general expression and pose, rather than having her centered, sometimes it is better to have her off-focus in storytelling, as the pose you chose really reduces the story effect. I can’t wait to see what else you have to offer in this competition, I commend you, and look forward to the improvements you will make on this journey.

Model’s Inc. A6 & Scores

Assignment six we got to chose an outfit from a certain designer and create a retro ad for it. I did okay I guess, but I didn’t get eliminated at least!

I really like that you went with a diner motif because it’s fun. I just think that with the colors and patterns going on in the background on top of the colors and patterns going on in your dress, it’s a bit much. It’s very, very crazy busy and hard to focus on something. Your model’s dress also kind of seems immersed in the rest of the patterns. The pose was cute and she is styled very well though. Your font choices were good, but the colors were just a shade too light to go with the dress colors.

Wow very colorful Dana. But it’s a biit too busy. Your model disappears into everything going on in the picture. And the green and blue font are just slightly the wrong shade to match the main picture colors. Very creative, just a bit too busy.

So now it’s the semi-finals! Woot! I have to step-up my game and this time we have to do a couture make-up and hair ad. I’ll get started on it tomorrow hopefully. Yup-de-doo. If you guys know of any good high-fashion/couture hair please link me some!! ^_^

I love this really. The setting is so creative and definitely gives off the vibe of an artist’s home. She’s posed really well also and the font choice for the lower text was really creative. That being said, there seems to be a quality issue when viewing the image in full size. The upper text is also not the best color because it blends too well. Otherwise, this is great.

Nicely done. A few minor issues, your model is right on the crease of the pages. The upper font nearly disappears into the background. And the pants are oddly textured. I do love the artist loft feel.

I was pretty happy with my scores and I got third place! Yup! Oh and for the next assignment we get to chose a retro-ish dress and advertise it and the creator. I haven’t started on it yet but I will on Saturday or on Sunday. ^-^

This is super cute Dana. I really like the bubbles and the pose you chose to use for the baby is very adorable. I like the setup, but at the same time I wish there was a bit more going on in the background other than pure white. The font is also slightly randomly placed. But this is super cute!

Model’s Inc. A3 & Scores

Okay so for this assignment we were allowed to chose one cc desginer that created swimsuits and make an ad for them. I didn’t do so good this round because I don’t know, I didn’t really have inspiration for it. I’m not proud of this photo.

Photo Quality: 3.5/5

This was quite a difference from your previous work, I have to admit. It’s not your average great quality. There are some blurred areas around your models and the placement of your text is very random. I love the setting choice. The poses you chose also aren’t the most flattering. Your standing model looks somewhat squished and your front model’s pose hides the swimwear (which is the focus of the ad). I do like the print you chose for the standing model’s suit – it’s animal print which works for the exotic feel. Overall, this isn’t bad, but it isn’t your best work and lacked the wow-factor I’m so used to by you.

Photo Quality: 4/5
Photo Presentation: 3/5
Model Appearance: 3/5
Creativity: 3/5

The backdrop is very interesting, I can almost see mermaids swimming around. That said, the poses make your models look awkward and broken. The swimsuit on the front model is barely noticeable because of her pose. It would be more dramatic if one of the models had eye contact with the camera. Your models are a bit too small overall for the ad. This feels more like a destination ad then a swimsuit ad. And the font is just kind of placed there. Overall a decent ad, but I know you can do better.

I was almost eliminated but I got lucky that round.

Good News!!!

My computer is fixed! Yay! It was fixed over 5 hours ago but I was working on the first assignment for Inspiration so here it is!

It took me a while to find cc for it and then set up the set (haha) and then style up Serena (yes that’s Serena) so yeah . .

I’m proud of it ^-^

More posts to come!
